How I Lost Weight - Great new mix of a meal!

I haven't been able to post for the last few days because I have been juggling my other internet ventures with going to a few interviews! happy to say I got both jobs and one is a very very high paying job. So woopie! Anyways since my last post my wife had created a new dish for me, it was fantastic! My entire family LOVED it. Just to give you the basics, it has the clear noodles (Glass noodles) and also the thick Asian noodles in it. I'm not sure what spices she uses or the amounts but experiment... Then she bought a HUGE slab of meat and cut it up into bite sized pieces. Mixed it with cabbage, asparagus and cauliflower and presto! YUMMMY! And healthy to as far as I can tell. Like I said my there were about six family members at the house a couple days ago and they ALL loved it.

I've been keeping up on my exercises and even got a couple days of light rollerblading in(love it).So I'll be checking on my weight here in a couple more days to make sure I'm up to par. I think it depends on the person whether you way yourself each day or not. I think if you way yourself everyday it can CRAWL up on you and all of a sudden your 4 or 5 pounds over what you were the first day you weighed yourself but it doesn't seem that bad because it seems like it went up gradually,but each to their own ,thats just my theory, maybe if you wrote it down each day then it would be more of an impact. Well it's time for me to do a small work-out, play an online game and go to bed. I wish you all a good weekend!

How I Lost Weight -Todays Breakfast and Dinner

Well today was rather a different Saturday because I had an orientation for a new job. I did wake up this morning and have some left over Tuna Casserole , I brought an orange and apple and a ham sandwich to work with me to munch on, and lots of water. I didn't get any exercise this morning but I sure did get some tonight. Crunches and push ups.. 25 of each. Tonight for dinner my wife made me a really interesting mixture of asparagus, tomatoes, white cauliflower, green cauliflower, those flat green beans,and some kind of asian sauce.. I was really good. Well thats it for today.. I think consistency in good eating habit really helps your weight loss program.. Not to say that you can't have an occasional pizza or Ice cream or whatever just not in excess.. It's hard sometimes I think untill you get used to going with out it.. I know for me, some foods are just plain addictive. Like a drug problem or a bad habit, you know you should't be eating it, you know it isn't really healthy and you've already had your fat treat for the week or whatever, but ya do it anyways. Shoot some of the things I just get out of habit like burritos and what not.. I don't really want one, but I'm hungry and it's familiar and I ALWAYS used to order them... So it's like a habit..Realizing that for me, is what USUALLY stops me.. :)

Losing Weight

Hello I hope your all having a good day. Today on my keeping my weight down quest I at a light eggs breakfast with onions and tomatoes with no bread. Then for lunch I ate some plums and an orange. Tonight I had some Hicama(can find at grocery stores) and Tuna Casserole. I only had a small serving of the casserole, a relative brought it over and I didn't want to be rude. :) Anyways that and my regular exercises were all I had time for today. I didn't get a jog in today, but I should be able to work in a good jog or some rollerblading in tomorrow.

Losing Weight -My Weight

Like I said I would give my weight after being home in the states for 1 month.... It looks like I'm at 172.5.. When I got home 4 weeks ago I believe I was at 171.. So I gained a pound and a half. Which really is what I had expected since I've been eating more American foods than I usually do. So after today I will be back on my wifes cooking, no more fast food stops every 3 days, and I will be rollerblading or at least taking a walk every other day. That should get me back down to 171, but my goal is to be 167 or so... So I'll post any new meals that my wife creates and keep up as best I can on anything else I may learn... Todaty we had white and green cauliflower with baby corn and a bit of tomatoes on top of rice.. It was very good.

How I Lost Weight -After Church Breakfast

Well this morning I woke up and did my exercises. 25 crunches 25 push-ups.I think if you can't do push-ups that a few reps with dumbells will work. Then I my wife and I had to run around a bit and get everything ready for my mother to watch our daughter while we went to church.... Kind of a hectic Sunday morning actually. After church and a big cup of coffee my wife made me of all things an omelet. It was a 2 egg omelet with ham and mushrooms and and very light on the tomatoes.. It was really good, especially since I usually eat before church. :) Anyways I think we'll most likely have rice tonight, with shrimp and maybe chopped beef,asparagus,cauliflower and possibly baby corn on top. I will mostly likely do another work out tonight as well. I am, given the time going top go on short walks soon as well because I think one of the things that helped me LOSE weight so fast besides the diets, was the walking. We would go on walks along the beach every other day and enjoy the sunsets.

Well that's todays input,

Sometime this week I'll give you my new weight since I've been back from Thailand... I don't imagine it has changed that much. As you can imagine when I get back into the states I eat a bit of American food, ya know fast food a big cheeseburger or too etc... But I get back on track right away and so I don't think it's affected me too much.We'll find out soon enough!

How I Lost Weight -Tonights Dinner and Exercise

Hello and good evening,

Welcome to another post on How I lost Weight. If you haven't been here before then welcome. This is a blog on how I have been able to lose weight and keep it off. I'm not a doctor, health or fitness expert or anything like that. I am just a 35 year old man that has found a way to lose weight and keep it off that works for me. It may or may not work for you but I hope that if anything it will help you in your quest to be a healthier you. Please look at the other post for general ingredients to some of the meals my wife cooks for me.

Today we ate more of the glass noodles with the same ingredients as before.(see last post) Then for dinner tonight we went out. We went to a restaurant and had(believe this) Lobster Tacos! Yummy Love it. Didn't have any extra stuff on it like sour cream or anything really bad, besides the corn tortilla that it was in I don't think there was anything else really fattening on it. My wife hadn't had a lot of lobster before coming to the states and thinks of them as giant shrimp, which I guess they are. Anyways after I get done on the computer I will do about 25 crunches and 25 push-ups and then maybe relax and read a book. I think that its good not to be too stressed out all the time because I don't know about you but personally I eat when I'm stressed. I realized that when I had stayed in Thailand for a long period of time, I didn't stress, I ate less... It's almost like smoking when your nervous or worried. Even Boredom can lead to eating for me. So I try to keep occupied, working on the computer, working on the ranch, planting flowers, making crafts, playing with my daughter, theres alot of things I do to try and stay busy, this being one of them. :)

Lose Weight -Yesterdays Lunch

Hi everyone,
Well yesterday I ended up being very busy indeed so I didn't get a chance to post. I will have to make this short for I have many things to do today but will try to post again tonight to tell you about todays meal and exercises.

Yesterday in my queste to lose weight my wife made me a delicious meal from these clear noodles, I can't remember the exact name of them but I think they're call glass noodles or crystal noodles. I f you haven't guess already I haven't told my wife I am posting about her meals. She is very shy and I think it would be better if I told her after the fact.... She'll be ok with it that way. Anyways it was the glass noodles with white cauliflower,green cauliflower,asparagus, also chopped beef. The meal yesterday was a bit spicy so she had added some spices, she never puts too much spicy in there because I'm just not that kind of mexican, but at times her own meals are REALLY REALLY HOT. And if I recall spicy meals help your metabolism, but don't quote me on that. That could help explain why most Thais are thin. My wife did yesterday get the urge for a cheeseburger so we went and got some $1 double cheeseburgers(I wont say where from but you can probably guess where) and I ate only one of those. We then had basically the same meal for dinner but she had added some other noodles in Thai they are called MAMA noodles. Theyre like short fat spaghetti noodles, but taste better. :) The cheeseburger wasn't part of my EAT HEALTHY PLAN but I've noticed that once a week I've been able to get away with eating a cheeseburger or a burrito with sour cream, but for the most part I try not to eat stuf like that.

I also had done my morning exerecises which consisted of 25 push up, 25 crunches and 1 rep of 10 with a dumbel on each arm. I didn't do any running in place because I new I would be doing some things on the ranch today. I also did another 25 crunches last night after dinner (like an hour or more). Well that was pretty much my day of staying healthy.

How I Lost Weight- Morning Breakfast

Hello Everyone and good morning,

This morning as I am typing my How I Lost Weight post my wife is making me a delicious egg and cucumber breakfast. This is a breakfast I had come to love in Thailand and my mother in law would make it for me frequently. I believe that it was another important key in my weight loss success. All it is really is scrambled eggs with some different spices on it and chopped cucumber. Its fantastic! Sometime I eat it by itself, and sometime on top of rice or even with sticky rice which I love. Depending on my mode and whether I'm to lazy to get up or not I will put fish sauce on it. All the variations are great and would recommend you give it a try. Its really really good. Usually before breakfast I will get a small workout in. 25 push-ups, 25 crunches, and even a bit of jogging in place or a mini stairmaster type machine, but toady I'll have to give my breakfast some time to settle in before I do that.The important thing is that it gets done.

How I Lost Weight -Last Nights Healthy Dinner

Last night my beautiful wife made me a great meal that was made mostly of things that we got from an asian seafood market (shrimp and what not are generally cheaper there). Anyways one of the dishes was simply asparagus breaded with this shrimp breading that we got from a regular market. Then she made another dish that had chopped asparagus, white cauliflower, cabbage, chopped pork(small piece)and baby corn all on top of white rice. I like to add fish sauce but it really doesn't need it. I'm no expert and haven't done alot of research but from what I know it's a pretty healthy meal and its really close to what my wife is used to eating everyday in Thailand. I may be missing an ingredient or two, but experiment and I'm sure you'll come up with a great variation. My wifes says the same thing about this dish as about all the dishes she makes for me "Here honey, this not make you fat". How I Lost Weight
Hi my name is Ruben, I am 35,I have a house in Thailand and have been living there off and on for the last two 1/2 years. I have found it to be a very soul cleansing experience, beside the beautiful scenery and gorgeous women, it is a relaxing, no stress enviornment. I am going to tell you how I went there a stressed, weight gaining mess and came home a different person.
When I went to Thailand I had just broken up with my girlfriend that I had been driving a semi with for two years+. I smoked , at times, like a chimney and although I tried to eat well, I never seemed to be able to get to the weight I wanted unless I did a drastic diet change that consisted of only eating low fat popcorn and drank nothing but juices, which included a prune cleansing. It worked very fast and I would drop the pounds incredibly fast that way, but as you can imagine that isn't the kind of diet a normal person can keep up with very long, so the weight would go right back on after a week to a week and a half after I would end the diet. Then it had happened my girlfriend and I had broken up and I decided to drive local in Los Angeles. We had a weight room and what not so I would hit the weights and the treadmill everyday. I toned up really nice but still couldn't shed the pound I wanted to around my mid section unless I went on that ridiculous diet again. So i just kept on the weights and treadmill and tried to buff up a bit.
When I went to Thailand that year I met my future wife the first day I was there at th airport in Bangkok, she was gorgeous,young and a GREAT cook. She could eat five or six meals a day and not gain a pound. Of course I was curious to how she could do it, she simply said "My food won't make me fat.". So I started eating Thai food and it was amazingly delicious and right away I could see how she could eat 5 or 6 times a day, It was fantastic! When we were married I stayed in Thailand for 4 months an after the first month I noticed changes right away,I WAS LOSING WEIGHT AND EATING AS MUCH AS I WANTED! I would jog on occasion and the heat in Thailand makes most foreigners sweat even at night and I new that was helping. Well I was about 184 when I went thare and when I left I was down to 167 pounds, my goal. It was great!
Well I had to go back home to the states and go bakc to work. Of course I stopped eating the food and started gaining weight again but not as much becuase I had changeds my diet to rice dishes and lots of water and juices wich was great becuase I enjoyed what I was eating. I stayed at 175 and didn't ever gain more than that until after about 6 months (of wich I had gone back to see my wife a few times). The months before I went back to Thailand I had stopped my rice dishes,juice and water diet for my american fast foods. I went up to 184 again!
I went back to Thailand to see my daughter being born and to bring them both bak to the states. I'm happy to say that in 4 months I went back down to 170 pounds, I also did like 25 crunches every night and 25 push ups every night to keep my upper body toned. It worked by the time I brought my wife and daughter to the states I was getting compliments from my family saying how much better I looked.
Now that we are back to the states I am at about 172(hey 4 months without fast food?) and my wife is cooking great Thai type(its hard to find the exact same ingrediants but we get really close and it tastes wonderfull) meals for us. I have stopped the exercises temporarily becuase of jet lag and lack of time but will start up gain this wekk I believe. And I am positive I will be back to 167!
In conclusion I think an asian food diet would be great for anyone who loves great food and is struggling to keep their weight off. I am not a doctor or a fitness expert and make no guarantees or claim it will work for anyone at that but this is what has worked for me and I thought I would like to share it.
